Zoom Communications, Inc. (NYSE:ZOM) today announced that it will become the first company to deploy a virtual reality headset in the United States.
The headset, which will be available on June 15th, will be sold at a price of $1,299.
Zoom Communications is one of the first to introduce a VR headset that enables users to interact in a real-world environment, allowing them to interact with other users in a way that is completely different from how they currently interact.
ZOM also says the headset will allow users to explore other VR experiences on their smartphones and tablets, with the ability to interact and share information on the headset using their smartphones’ built-in VR-compatible microphones.ZOM has partnered with leading video game company Gear VR to bring the virtual reality experience to the American market.
Gear VR currently offers a VR-enabled version of its popular Gear VR headset called the Gear VR Pro.
The Gear VR Pros will be powered by Google’s virtual reality technology and come with an optional headband that lets users strap on their virtual reality headgear and head to a real world location to view content in virtual reality.
GearVR also has a standalone VR headset with the same functionality.
The headset will come with three different models: the $599 Gear VR, the $699 Gear VR 2, and the $799 Gear VR 3.
The Gear VR is the headset that will be released to consumers in June.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 835, a quad-core processor that powers the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
The Snapdragon 821 processor is also used in the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
The $699 and $799 models will be shipping in June, while the Gear and Gear VR will ship in July.
Zom has said it plans to sell the GearVR and GearVR 2 simultaneously.
The company is targeting a release in the first quarter of 2020, with prices starting at $599 and $699, respectively.

The first Gear 5 will be launching in the U.S. in September 2020, while a second Gear 5 and Gear 5 Plus will launch in the spring of 2021, respectively, in other markets around the globe.
Zoo Media, the world’s largest content publisher, announced today that it has partnered up with the global technology and entertainment company, Zooniverse, to bring its popular online community to virtual reality through the creation of a VR platform.
Zoo Media said that the platform will allow its members to share photos, videos, and more directly on the Zoo platform.
Zooniverse also announced a partnership with Oculus VR, which it said will allow members to take photos and video and share them with other members.
Zoo said it is committed to supporting its community through content on the ZoNet VR platform and through the Zoo Network, a global social network where members can connect with other ZoNet members.
