ESRC will launch the first commercial solar panel in the Middle East in 2019.
The UAE is a key market for the company, which has invested over €20m in its 3D printers in the past decade.
The new 3D printer will produce solar panels for the UAE’s energy grid.
The project, called Solar System 2, will be powered by the company’s 3D Printers Plus.
The 3D Printer Plus will allow for the manufacture of solar cells in the country, the company said in a statement.
The solar panels will be installed on the roofs of buildings and offices.
The panels will have a capacity of up to 400 kilowatts and will be manufactured at a facility in the United Arab Emirates.
Solar system 2 is expected to be available by 2021, and the company has already signed contracts with local governments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
